Here is a letter from his dad:

“Dear friends and supporters,

Human life is fragile, unpredictable, and sometimes turns upside down and makes you feel like the earth itself is slipping from under your feet.
For our family, this disaster happened almost 10 years ago – our first-born Romāns, who was awaited with love, suffered an irreparable trauma during childbirth, which made our family feel that life and the world around us had lost its meaning.
Our family found the strength to fight for Romāns’ life.
In this year of Romāns’ 10th birthday, we would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for the support and help you have given to our family.
Thank you for not remaining indifferent and for providing your support and assistance to our dear boy despite your own problems and daily worries. Help of all kinds is very important. Your help gives Romāns new opportunities, and the rehabilitation specialists see positive changes and progress each time, bringing Romāns closer to a happy childhood.
From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you and your loved ones health, happiness, and love.
We will not give up and we will move on!”
